The Great Temple Tour explores the temples of Preah Vihear and Siem Reap province, including:

  • Preah Khan
  • Prasat Koh Ker

  • Angkor Wat temples

Averaging nearly 200 Km/day, this tour covers some challenging terrain as well as long open stretches of fast and flat highway. Riders spend one night camping at Prasat Bakan temple and the other nights in a guesthouse or hotel.

Day 1 — Arrive in Phnom Penh
Pick up your motorcyle and gear, meet your guide and attend a pre-takeoff tour debriefing.
         
Day 2 — Phnom Penh to Kompong Thom
Leave Phnom Penh in the morning and head to Kompong Thom along the Mekong river road. Asphalt/Dirt; 5 hours riding time, 250 kilometres.
         
Day 3 — Kompong Thom to Preah Khan
The road from Kompong Thom begins as asphalt, then turns into a graded dirt road that snakes its way through rural farmland and past ancient temples. Camping at Preah Khan temple. Asphalt/Dirt/Sand; 4 hours riding time, 150 kilometres.
         
Day 4 — Preah Khan to T'beng Meanchey
Wake up in a thousand-year-old temple and then head north to Prasat Koh Ker, the pyramid temple, for lunch. After lunch, drive west to Preah Vihear's largest town, T'beng Meanchey, to spend the night. Sand/Dirt; 5 hours riding time, 160 kilometres.

Day 5 — T'beng Meanchey to Prasat Preah Vihear
Head north towards the Thai border and Prasat Preah Vihear. Standing high on the Dangrek Escarpment, Preah Vihear temple offers stunning views of the valley below. Sand/Dirt; 6 hours riding time, 160 kilometres.

Day 6 — Prasat Preah Vihear to Siem Reap
Head south to Siem Reap, stopping along the way to visit one of Cambodia's most fascinating temples, the Bantey Srey, Citadel of Women. Sand/Dirt; 5 hours riding time, 160 kilometres.

Day 7 — Siem Reap
Spend the day visiting the famous Angkor Wat temple complex. Microlight flights available.

Day 8 — Siem Reap to Phnom Penh
The road home is an easy one. Arrive in time for sunset and spend the evening exploring Phnom Penh. Asphalt/Dirt; 6 hours riding time, 330 kilometres.
